From becoming the only African American amongst the Edison Pioneers, to developing the first telephone patent draft for Alexander Graham Bell—Lewis Latimer is one of the most remarkable inventors of the 19th century. Today, The Lewis H. Latimer Fund is preserving and promoting legacy of the man himself through workshops, STEAM education programs and resources provided for the underrepresented communities of Latimer's local neighborhood in Flushing, Queens and beyond.

Latimer's house, a victorian Queen Anne-style suburban residence, serves as a center for collaboration and innovation. Even though the house signifies the past, its mission is to pique excitement about present and future. In light of that, the organization was repositioned from a static museum to a vibrant and dynamic community open house. Guided by Latimer's approach, they are on a mission to empower and fuel the mindset of tomorrow's problem-solvers.

Visual language explores the enduring relevance of Latimer's multifaceted way of thinking, inviting emerging thinkers to use the space as a thinking playground for exploring their own kaleidoscopic mindset.
